I have built a custom DVR for my home security camera system using an old think center PC and i have it in my closet with my modem so its out of sight. but i hvae anydesk on it so i can remote in in case there was a problem. today there was a problem and i cant remote in, i get only a black screen. so i pulled an old monitor out and connected it and suddenly anydesk works as well.

If we enter display properties then the second display cannot be seen. You can use either the HDMI or the DP connection with a single monitor but connect to both and only one is used. Using Anydesk Headless (no monitor) Thought I'd share in case this helps others - if you want to use Anydesk on a Win 10 device with no monitor attached (and possibly on Mac - haven't tested there), it can't attach to a drawing context and will hang on connecting. There's an archived post here about this but none of the solutions suggested.
